History & Origins

The Spritz traces its origins to the 19th century in the Veneto region of Italy, where Austrian soldiers diluted local wines with water to make them lighter. The modern Spritz, incorporating Prosecco and bitter liqueurs like Aperol or Campari, gained popularity in the mid-20th century. Today, the Aperol Spritz is one of the most famous variations, widely enjoyed as a refreshing aperitif.
