Mimosa

A light and elegant brunch cocktail made with sparkling wine and fresh orange juice.

Ingredients

  • Sparkling Wine (Champagne or Prosecco) 3 oz (90ml)
  • Fresh Orange Juice 3 oz (90ml)
  • Orange Twist For garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Fill a champagne flute halfway with fresh orange juice.
  2. Slowly top up with sparkling wine to preserve the bubbles.
  3. Gently stir, if needed.
  4. Garnish with an orange twist (optional).

History & Origins

The Mimosa was created in 1925 at the Ritz Hotel in Paris by bartender Frank Meier. Inspired by the British Buck’s Fizz, which had a higher ratio of champagne, the Mimosa became a brunch staple worldwide. Its light and refreshing taste makes it a favorite for celebrations and morning gatherings.
