History & Origins

The Long Island Iced Tea was created in the 1970s by bartender Robert "Rosebud" Butt, who invented the drink for a contest to create a new mixed drink using Triple Sec. Despite its name, the cocktail doesn't contain any tea. It became widely popular in the 1980s and remains a staple in bars around the world, known for its strong, yet refreshing flavor.
