History & Origins
The Daiquiri originated in Cuba in the late 19th century. It is named after a beach near Santiago de Cuba, where American engineer Jennings Cox is credited with inventing the drink in 1898. The simple yet refreshing combination of rum, lime, and sugar became popular among bartenders worldwide, later evolving into many variations, including the frozen Daiquiri.
